Joanne Cuthbertson

Joanne Cuthbertson, CM, LL.D., was the first elected Chair of EducationMatters – Calgary’s unique public education trust – and founder of SPEAK (Support Public Education–Act for Kids). She is Chancellor Emerita of the University of Calgary and Co-chair of the university’s Scholars Academy, which she founded upon retirement. Ms. Cuthbertson is a Director of Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and Co-chair of the Leadership Council. She serves on the Glenn Gould Foundation board and as a long-time Fellow of Glenbow Museum. Ms. Cuthbertson is a recipient of the Calgary Award (in Education) and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
